Luke Redington writes a short article on Center for Science of Information Education Director Brent Ladd and his understanding of graduate students and how he creates opportunities and environments to help them do their best work. Luke takes a snapshot of Brent's strategies and how he appliesthem and his own experience to develop multidisciplinary workshops.In a recent workshop he brought together students and postdocs in life sciences, data science, and information theory in collaboration with each other to solve problems that were difficult to solvealone, but quicker and more innovative with an interdisciplinary team.
