Quality Control: Data

To reduce uncertainty and variability in fluorescence measurements, data should be evaluated.

  1. Important to avoid the use of automatically calculated fluorescence parameters, presented by the instrument software, until raw data 'traces' have been carefully inspected to ensure the integrity of findings
  2. At least 20% of recorded traces should be manually checked for agreement of the instrument's calculations of fluorescence parameters. If the manually calculated values are not within ±10% of the instrument calculations, all calculations should be made from the spectral recordings.
